Worst Boss Ever

I've never been shy about my dislike for my boss (Curt, as I like to call him). In fact, shortly after I started with my position, a coworker and I invented a game called Keep Away From Curt. The goal of the game was to avoid contact with Curt for as long as possible. The person able to hold out the longest wins.

Before now, the longest streak on record was 2 days, 3 hours with no calls or e-mails or awkward cubicle visits.

As of now, the new record is:

21 days without a single spoken word to me
36 days without a single e-mail to me

This blog has been a long time in the making -- the original file was dated October 7th. In any event, I'm proud to (finally) present to you: booty's babes, Sexy Geeks v1. The girls were rated on face, body, personality, and brains -- combined scores determine the ranking. In the event of ties, ranking was determined by GNN men.

Additional fun details have been added for your amusement. And yes, there will be additional installations with an updated ranking at the end of my list. Feel free to leave suggestions for upcoming lists!

The Last 6 Months in 10 Minutes...

I keep meaning to write a real blog but life here has just been so crazy! I'm sorry for being a sucky token female blogger -- by now, GNN should be flooded with emo, self-hating posts about shitty bands, declarations of love for Johnny Depp, and recipes for cupcakes nobody will ever make.

In any event, I've been busy. Here's what I've been up to:

1) Travel: Georgia, Pittsburgh, the UK, Berlin, Denmark, Paris, Belgium, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, some places more than once...

2) Work: Still sucks...

10 Things booty <3's About Fall

Fall is wonderful for a lot of reasons -- the crispness in the air, all the stupid high school kids going back to school and getting out of my favorite hang outs, a drop in heating and cooling bills for a month or two before winter, and the end of road construction season, to name a few.

But...those are not my favorite things about fall. Below are my ten favorite "fall-y" things." Check 'em out. They're the awesome-o.

10) Autumn rain
9) Halloween candy
8) Tailgaiting parties
7) Pumpkin muffins with cream cheese frosting
6) Sweaters + rolled up jeans
5) Chai tea lattes

2,974

Today we remember the thousands of mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, and heroes who perished in the September 11th attacks six years ago.

2,974 lives cut short. Another 30 souls missing and presumed dead.

I was feeling a little homesick today and missing my car (a 2004 Honda Civic named Shego after the villainess in Kim Possible) and thought it would be interesting to write about some of my favorite geeky cars. And, as a bonus feature, I'm also going to tell you why I think it's sexy when a man drives one... ;)

So, without any further ado, I proudly present my favorite geekmobiles:

5) The Smart Car

hey everyone... sorry it's been so long since i last wrote! i've been over here in berlin all alone and working like a dog. actually, it's been kind of nice because i've gotten to spend a lot of time thinking, and i've started running again, something i used to love to do.

here they are, in order --

15) no sleep til brooklyn - the beastie boys
14) take me out - franz ferdinand
13) remember the name - fort minor
12) ready steady go - paul oakenfold

"biology’s big bang", the economist, june 16th to june 22nd
reviewed by booty::.

a quick summary of the article:

Biology is currently undergoing what physics underwent in the early 20th century. In 1932, the discovery of the neutron provided a catalyst for current understanding of the physical world. Now, with the discovery and deepened understanding of RNA, biology is seeing the same exponential growth and unlimited possibility.

i did a google search the other day for geeky pickup lines and i kept seeing the same 35 lines or so regurgitated again and again. and though some of them were awesome (my favorite: you compute me), most were way too nerdy to be cool at all. i guess i could have made a compilation of the best of those and sifted out the crappy lines -- but that's lame.

instead, with a little help from zeekay, i came up with about 15 brand fucking new pickup lines, geek-style. however, even i, booty, geek bombshell extraordinaire, am not always smooth (hey, that's part of beeing a geek!). so, i picked the BEST of my lines and here they are, just for you!

happy father's day, ice-t!
